Experiencing the original work of any aesthetic creation is filled with freshness. Because it has no history. A song, a painting, a dance, a literary work—any of these original aesthetic creations feel more valuable to me because I am engaging directly with the true artist. When I enjoy a painting by Van Gogh, Da Vinci, or even Caravaggio, a Baroque artist, I experienced in the gallery the authenticity of the original artwork more than in its photograph. Therefore, the original work and its reproductions are never the same.
I enjoy Sharmila’s works because I, too, feel the unsoiled beauty of nature that she has captured. Through thousands of delicate brush strokes she matched so finely, I once again enjoyed the vibrant flowers blooming in the spring season. Some of them are flowers that truly bloom inside our minds rather than in reality. This painting, filled with blossoms that seem to hide the artificial smoke rising from the chimney, is now adorning my living room
